UPDATE: Id's Matt Hooper, design director on Rage, weighs in with a tweet that calls the rumous "a bit silly":
"Doom4 rumor is a bit silly... We're still cranking away on Doom & Rage ... and btw, we're still looking to hire even more talent."
Rumours circulating earlier today - which suggested that Bethesda had indefinitely suspended development of Doom 4 following Rage's mixed reception - have been dismissed as "Complete bollocks" in a curt tweet from VP of PR and marketing Pete Hines.
The rumour started when Kotaku claimed that a source close to Bethesda had told the site that parent company Zenimax was placing the game on hold indefinitely due to a "a serious lack of confidence in the project management at id".
However, it would appear that we can now continue to look forward to battling Cyberdemons and imps rendered in id Tech 5 glory. Panic over.
