Double Fine Adventure, Tim Schafer's Kickstarter bid to fund development of a PC point-and-click adventure, has raised more than $3 million (£1.9 million) – and there are still ten hours to go.
At the time of writing the project has raised $3,027,728 from a total of 79,698 backers. Double Fine is to count down the final two hours in a live web stream.
The project kicked off last month, which Schafer asking a modest $400,000 to fund a game in the style of his beloved PC adventures. That total was reached inside ten hours, and within a day, the project had raised a million.
The surplus funding will all be invested into development of the game – which is now headed to OSX, Linux, iOS and Android, as well as PC – and the behind-the-scenes documentary, which is being produced by 2 Player Productions.
