Download-only SimCity dated for Mac

Mac owners will be able to play SimCity alongside their PC counterparts from June 11th, EA has confirmed.

SimCity on Mac is a digital-only release, and with one purchase players can play on either format. It means that PC owners that have already bought SimCity will also be able to play the game on Mac. The reverse is also true; Mac owners who download the game will now be able to play on PC.

“You only need to buy SimCity once to play together across the same servers, regardless of which version you’re playing,” said senior vice president and general manager of EA’s Maxis label Lucy Bradshaw.

SimCity runs natively on Mac, EA added, and it has sold over 1.3 million copies on PC to date. You can read our SimCity review through the link.
