DS Holds Top Spot In Japan

Nintendoís handheld comfortably ahead of PSP again in the weekly hardware chart, while Xbox 360 sales more than halve.

DS retained the top spot on the Japanese hardware sales chart during the week ended September 26.

The DS line of handhelds moved 89,199 units, with first placed DSi accounting for more than half of the sales.

Total PSP sales were up almost 8,000 units to 38,476, likely boosted by the launch of Sega’s Black Panther Yakuza New Chapter, which debuted in second place on the software chart behind the record breaking Pokémon Black & White.

Elsewhere, weekly Xbox 360 sales more than halved after a spike last week surrounding Halo: Reach’s release.
