Nintendo has confirmed that the DSi handheld will launch across Europe on April‭ ‬3.

The company had not confirmed the pricing of the unit,‭ ‬though multiple reports suggest the unit is expected to retail at‭ ‬£150.

The handheld,‭ ‬which launched in Japan back in November,‭ ‬will be available in black or white,‭ ‬with Nintendo not once mentioning the word‭ ‬blue in its press release.

Nintendo has also confirmed that Australian side of PAL will see the unit released on April‭ ‬2; ‬also available in black and white,‭ ‬but not blue.

The handheld will sell for‭ ‬$170‭ ‬in the US,‭ ‬which is at the time of going to press worth‭ ‬£118.‭ ‬It will sell for AU$300‭ ‬down under,‭ ‬the equivalent of‭ ‬£134.

To be fair the current lite looks a little toyish, this is just subtle evolution of an amazing little system. Fair play to nintendo for jumping on the Sony / Microsoft wagon of milking a little more money out of their punters for a change.... Hell I reckon I may now be tempted!!!!

Bollocks. Just because it's Nintendo all of a sudden it's OK? I've never heard so much nonsense in all my life.

Dude, There`s nothing wrong with the current system really like there`s nothing wrong with the first PSP but that did not stop Sony re releasing their system slightly smaller in a slightly different colour so WTF is bollocks about making money in a similar manner?

No GBA slot, no R4 and more money - the marketing budget better be pretty high for this to sell... Oh wait no, everything Nintendo touches turns to gold at the moment.

I think its a little pricey too, I would have thought of a $150 US that would be a very good price in my opinion, you charge extra for the cameras and differentiate it enough from the current price point of the DS Lite. Still they probably know that its such a hot item that they will try to make as much profit as possible, not a bad thing I guess but I would have been nice to get a more competitive price.

Nintendo can just fuck off with that price.

All that extra cash for a crappy camera? Not interested

Think I'll stick with my current DS at that price. Nintendo are the new Sony!

DS Lite price drop please.

The PSP Slim can now be got for £110, so I hope that retailers will do something similar with the DS Lite.
