A DSi Speak Channel is believed to be in the works after the application was reportedly mentioned on Nintendo's website before being swiftly removed.

According to multiple reports, a customer support page on Nintendo.com read: "To redeem a Nintendo DSi Download Ticket number, such as for the Nintendo DSi Speak Channel, enter the number off the Nintendo DSi Download Ticket in 'Settings and Features' off of the main Nintendo DSi Shop page, then select Nintendo DSi Download Ticket.”

A DSi Speak Channel would appear to fit with Nintendo’s strategy. The company already offers the Wii Speak Channel for its home console. Launched in late 2008, it uses a microphone that sits on top of a user’s television set and enables them to chat with up to three other players in different locations. Users can also leave audio messages for friends.

In response to the reports, a Nintendo rep told CVG: "It's rumour as nothing has been announced."
