Sony reveals UK pricing plans, as rumours suggest cross-game chat will need to hosted by Plus account holders.

Sony has revealed further details of the pricing plans for the PlayStation Plus subscription service, along with further information as to the kind of content Plus account holders can expect to receive.

According to Sony, a 12 month subscription will cost £39.99, whereas a  90 day subscription will be priced at £11.99. Sony suggest the 'content value' of a one year subscription comes in at £200, while a 90 subscription will net £50 worth of content.

This content will take the form of full games which users will be able to download and play so long as they retain membership; full game trials, which will allow members to to download designated games from the PlayStation Store and play them for a limited period; 'special content' inlcuding exclusive avatars and custom themes; discounts on specified titles, and early access to betas, demos and video content.

Rumours suggest, however, that membership will also grant access to another, long desired feature. Eurogamer reports that a Sony Europe website claimed cross-game chat would be part of the subscription package. Sony however, refused to comment, stating that cross-game chat was "not part of the [PlayStation Plus] press release".
