This year, Edge will be presenting keynote essays by some of the biggest names that are attending E3, explaining what they're showing off and where they're taking their companies.

We kick off the series with a description of Left 4 Dead 2 by Valve's Doug Lombardi, a game that Microsoft presented during its press conference as exclusive to 360 on consoles. There, he explains how Valve is developing some of the core features of L4D, which came out last November, to produce this new chapter in the series.
