Remedy's Alan Wake has been a long time in the making, and it looks like we'll be waiting some time yet - its release has been set for spring 2010. From the playthrough during Microsoft's press conference, its Resident Evil 4-style thirdperson shooting seemed smooth and well paced, with Wake brandishing a torch as well as his gun in order to defeat a variety of shambling humanoids and animated farm implements.
