“We wanted to create an entirely new experience, with a different type of heroine and a world that not only looks fresh and new but has unique gameplay"
Publisher Electronic Arts has announced that its award-winning action-adventure title Mirror’s Edge will ship on November 11 for PS3 and Xbox 360, with the PC version set to arrive “later in the winter”.
Developed by Sweden-based EA DICE, “Mirror’s Edge delivers players straight into the shoes of Faith, a modern day heroine who traverses the vertigo-inducing cityscape, engaging in intense combat, fast-paced chases and challenging puzzles.”
Prior to launch, a Mirror’s Edge demo featuring the game’s tutorial and a segment of the single-player story mode will be made available over the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
“Mirror’s Edge is bringing something new to the action-adventure genre this holiday by putting the player in the shoes of the hero, seeing what she sees, feeling what she feels,” said Owen O’Brien, senior producer at DICE.

Mirror’s Edge was recently awarded Best Xbox 360 Game at the Leipzig Game Convention in August and also picked up the Game Critics award for Best Original Game at E3 in July.
Even though it's still a first person experience and we've all experienced the scarse guns, hand-to-hand/melee combat gameplay before (Condemned), the surroundings really seem to provide a fresh look and the action seems to be fast paced. I can't wait to see and play the game myself.
