Electronic Arts has signed a publishing agreement with Japan's Grasshopper Manufacture, the studio behind cult titles Killer 7 and No More Heroes.

Details on the project are slim, although EA said that the title is an "all-new action horror game" that is being produced by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. Grasshopper figurehead Suda51 is directing.

The partnership, which will have EA Partners publishing the game, is unique for EA, which is normally Western-centric. Grasshopper's games are have a strong Japanese flavor and typically click with a hardcore audience.

Also involved in the partnership is Q Entertainment, the Japanese studio responsible for the puzzler Lumines.

The upcoming game is in development for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. No release date has been announced.
