EA 'Not Happy' Until It Dominates FPS Genre

Super publisher gunning for Modern Warfare's crown.

EA has its eyes on reclaiming FPS dominance from Modern Warfare, and chief operating officer John Schappert has said the publishing giant is "not going to be happy" until it does so.

"We're not going to be happy until we've taken leadership back in the first person shooter category, and the tip of the spear is the combination of Battlefield: Bad Company and Medal Of Honor," he said during an earnings call tonight.

"We fully expect [Medal Of Honor] to be a successful title this year. We're using a lot of the same technology between the two. The multiplayer game that is part of Medal of Honor this year is in fact built by the studio that builds Battlefield: Bad Company.

"We've made great strides with Battlefield: Bad Company and we expect to make further strides with Medal Of Honor, and we have strong plans for years to come."

EA just confirmed that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has sold over five million units to date.
