EA Not Rebranding Redwood Shores

Contrary to a report on Variety's Cut Scene blog, EA has told Edge that EA Redwood Shores will not be rebranding.

In a phone interview, an EA rep claimed that the site "misconstrued" statements from EA Redwood Shores' Glenn Schofield.

"That story left us scratching our heads," the rep said.

Variety's report said Schofield already had a new branding "going through legal."

The EA rep explained that when Schofield was talking about creating a brand, he was referring to evolving the images of EA's studios to reflect creativity and originality, but an actual rebranding will not take place.

[Update] Cut Scene has updated its story (see link above), stating: "...It's only the developers who work as part of the EA Games label in Redwood Shores, the guys and gals who made Dead Space and specialize in third person action adventure, who are getting a new studio brand. Formerly they were just lumped in with 'EA Redwood Shores.' But now they are getting their own distinct identity..."
