EA pulls App Store Battlefield 3

Electronic Arts has pulled Battlefield 3: Aftershock from the iOS App Store following complaints from players.

IGN reports that the game, a free download thanks to sponsorship from military film Act Of Valor, had an average user rating of two and a half stars when EA took it down. Players complained of a variety of issues, including problems with the controls and multiplayer matchmaking.

In a statement, the publisher said: "EA Mobile is committed to delivering mobile entertainment experiences that are on par with the content and quality users have come to expect from their favourite EA gaming brands.

"To this end, we have decided to remove Battlefield 3: Aftershock from the App Store and are currently re-evaluating the app in response to the consumer feedback we've received. We thank all the fans who've downloaded the game to date."

The company told IGN a "more comprehensive" Battlefield 3 game would be released for iOS later this year.
