EA Sports Active 2.0 Skips Xbox 360

New fitness title in development for multiple platforms including PS3 and iPhone, but not MicrosoftĂs console.

Electronic Arts has announced that it is developing a new EA Sports Active game for multiple platforms, but not Xbox 360.

“Powered by new leg and arm straps with motion sensors, a heart rate monitor to capture intensity, and a new online hub to track and share workout data,” EA Sports Active 2.0 will launch for PS3, Wii, iPhone and iPod touch.

The company also said that PS3 owners will be able to download new workouts. The news follows EA Sports’ earlier announcement that the PS3 version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 will support Sony's new motion controller, but not Microsoft's Natal.

EA Sports boss Peter Moore said recently that the EA Sports Active franchise has generated $125 million for the firm since launching in May 2009.
