Featuring on its cover Agent 47, star of forthcoming Hitman: Absolution, and printed on the best quality paper stock in our 18-year history, the new look Edge features extended game reviews and previews, even deeper features, and introduces a new section that looks at the art, science and business of making games, Create.
If you're at E3, you're in luck - we have 10,000 copies being distributed at the Los Angeles Convention Center. With a projected 43,000 people attending this year, though, you'll have to be quick.
Take a look at the issue’s features in detail on its magazine page, where you’ll also find links to buy and subscribe.

19Yay, I'm excited to get it. I hope Extended Time will remain.
i am really curious..
the content and the graphic design of the magazine have always been excellent..
looking forward to my copy..
best of luck..
keep them keeping..
This is great news, looking forward to seeing the new issue / design. As a subscriber though, should I have already received my copy in the post already..?
I haven't, if that's any comfort.
Awesome, don't really know how the coverage could get better it's already great. I'm a subscriber though, should I have received it already?
As above - nice to see the magazine looking after its existing paying customers... I see less and less reason to keep subscribing tbh...
Subscribers couldn't get the issues early due to NDA's in place. Not sure which ones, but with e3's "first look" preview thing most of the press has had to sit on stuff until the relevant conference has happened
Ah - that explains it. I was particularly concerned as some b#$t@-d stole my last issue in the post! (Future kindly sent out a free replacement though at least :) ) -John.
But will it be blue like the forum? :)
People at E3 will be getting their copies tomorrow if I am correct.
White backgrounds have to go. Sick colours have to go. Font sizes less artsy more practical. Oh and less of segmenting the pictures and text please.Fix that stuff and it might be ok. As it is its pretty much the worst magazine redesign I've ever seen.
Obviously you've never ready Gamefan then ;) So I'm curious to know why do you prefer the more artsy font size and not the more practical approach?
new design is great!, leave as it is...
Absolutely love the new design guys. Well done! Smaller mag FTW!
My copy arrived safe and sound at home yesterday. Overall, my first impressions of the redesign are v. positive - and *my word* what a BIG issue it is! (in terms of pages). Other plusses for me were the (apparent..) low number of ads (always a bonus, though obviously I appreciate they are a necessary "evil"). Big thumbs-up for the "Design" too (on the whole). I was ok with the smaller(?) typeface - but perhaps accompany more of the full pages of text with a full page *image* on the opposite side? Being a little hyper-critical there - overall VERY happy - and packed with great content too. Final thought: Where has Felicia Day been all my life?!?!? *WOW* (and I ain't talkin' Warcraft here folks..)
Hugely impressed with the new design. I generally keep back copies of Edge and now I feel even more inclined to do so as it has more the feel of a book than a magazine.
I haven't recieved my copy yet. Bank holidays and all that... very excited about the new format... I hope the paper is still good quality *drool*... EDGE paper.
No, No, No, NO! NO! I know that change is inevitable but there was no need to redesign the magazine...
I'm sorry EDGE but you've dropped the ball on this one. I really do miss the original.
The coloured lines draw the eye away from the text you are supposed to be reading.
The extra bits of layout and box outs confuse and clutter the page.
Finding what images with correspond with the tagged numbers/description is confusing and headache inducing also….Yes, it is nice to have bigger/more pictures, but I for one feel, that adding more in has taken away from the value, insight, and unique, removed analysis that the magazine and writers have always been famous for by making the pages “more busy”
I've only read some of the magazine so far (the Hitman Scoop is a nice bonus) I'm not sure if I'm imagining this, but I the anonymity and enforced uniformity of writing style has been lost throughout the magazine. Edge has always been famous from being a step removed from the hype, and no mater who provided the text, it didn’t matter because it was consistent in style and content through the magazine.
On the plus side The Post-Script for big reviews is an interesting idea, and provides an interesting aside area for additional information.
Why did you have to move the letters and columnist pages to the front of the magazine as well, I’ve always felt that they should be considered AFTER you have read the PREVIEWS, and REVIEWS sections as they add additional insight into magazine content or the state of particular issues in the industry, having them at the back meant that you could read and consider them after digesting the issue….
The higher grade paper is a nice plus, but why did you have to change the size of the magazine as well?
I’ll finish reading the magazine, but first impressions are not good – sorry…
Funny how people think the previous incarnation was "the original". Back in the day when I was just a young badly shaven fella wearing an over-sized suit, it was the golden-age for magazines....we were all smoking cigars and burning £50 for fun. Back then, Edge used to push out some incredible front covers, you know, the kind of thing you stroked in a non-sexual way. Like petting a kitten. Or not.
Ahem. Anyways, any chance Edge fancies showing readers the evolution of the magazine? Front covers/ shifts in internal design/ font/ some of the best spreads?
Surprisingly tricky to find a solid collection of Edge Magazine Front Covers online..anyone know where there is one?
