Today we’ve launched a new weekly analysis of internet buzz relating to videogames.
Produced in association with brand intelligence specialist Brandwatch, the Edge Games Index rates games according to the volume of positive and negative buzz they're inspiring on the web.
Every Thursday we’ll present the chart of the UK’s top ten sellers alongside a more topical list that we hope will give insight into the opinion behind the sales data, beginning with a comparison of the big music games that are on the market at the moment.
The clear winner in terms of the amount of chatter this week is FIFA 10, which is also number one in the sales chart. On the music side, it turns out that the two big players, The Beatles: Rock Band and Guitar Hero 5, are stimulating broadly similar reactions.
Each of the weekly charts allows you to rank the list by the overall quantity of buzz about each title, by the quantity of positive or negative buzz, and by the percentage of positive or negative buzz.
