Emergent Game Technologies has reported a jump in revenues and profit during 2009.
The California-based company said that revenues were up 35 per cent year-on-year, while profit jumped 58 per cent.
Best known for its 3D game engines, Gamebryo and Gamebryo LightSpeed, Emergent’s development products have been used for more than 300 projects. The company said that it closed over 120 deals during 2009 and recorded its strongest growth in North America, Japan and China.
"Emergent has made changes to weather the tough economic climate and is poised to become stronger than ever as a result of those changes," said company CEO Scott Johnson.
"While the Asian market and the US visual simulation market never slowed for us, we are now seeing signs that game development is starting to pick up in North America and Europe. Our core message of reducing redundancies by using Gamebryo LightSpeed is resonating with publishers and developers."
In October 2009, Emergent cut an unspecified number of jobs as part of restructuring efforts.
