2Epic: Gears 3 leak "frustrating and saddening"
In an extensive interview published on the site today, executive producer Rod Fergusson admits the premature leak earlier this month of a development build of Gears Of War 3 was "saddening" and "frustrating," but saves his harshest words for those who sought out story spoilers. "It's people choosing to ruin their own experience," he tells us. "I get people going, 'oh no, I just watched this thing on YouTube and it's totally given away something'. And I go, 'well, why did you go looking and why did you watch it?'" He also hints at repercussions for those that shared video footage of the game, saying: "We're extremely diligent about getting that stuff taken down and issued a call to fans to not perpetuate it…and just keeping track of those who do. I don't think everybody's aware of the potential repercussions of those types of actions."

2Hi Rod. I've not looked at the youtube video. I'm tempted to look at it now just to ramp up the viewing figures if it irks you some. However, I probably won't bother because I just don't care enough. The single player Gears experience has always been quite a pedestrian romp in the "who look how big" genre. I expect no improvement whatsoever in this third outing.
What I DO care about is the multiplayer WHICH HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE BEST THING ABOUT GEARS YOU NONCE.
Its a game dick head, not a movie. Gamers aren't going to say "Ah man, now there is no point in buying it!" After all, they will still buy it to play it. If it was a story driven game then fair enough, but it isn't, its a killathon, the story sits a distant second. So relax Rod and stop taking it so personally.
