Apple's iPhone 4S press conference today played host to the unveiling of Epic Games subsidiary Chair Entertainment’s Infinity Blade 2, the follow-up to December 2010’s iOS smash hit.
The sequel will be exclusive to iOS devices, launching on December 1, 2011 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, Gamasutra reports. It will support iOS 5 features including iCloud, enabling users to transfer profiles between devices.
Epic said the game will continue the Infinity Blade adventure with new fighting styles and "deep role-playing elements”, plus fresh bosses, locations and environments.
The original Infinity Blade, which was Unreal Engine's iOS debut, became the fastest-grossing app in App Store history upon release. Priced at $5.99, it attracted 271,424 players in its first four days on sale, raking in $1.625 million. By June 2011 that figure had swelled to $10 million.
