EVE Online Dev in Deep South

Iceland-based EVE Online developer CCP Games is setting up shop in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

With other CCP offices in London, Shanghai and Reykjavík, Iceland, the new CCP North America branch is part of the MMO developer’s US expansion plans

“Following the merger of CCP Games and White Wolf Publishing last year, we look forward to expanding our CCP North American team and player base over the course of this year,” said CCP North America president Mike Tinney in a statement.

The new Georgia office will be hiring over 100 new MMO development and design staff over the next 12 months.

The independent CCP Games is the creator of the futuristic space MMO EVE Online, which boasts around 190,000 players globally. About 40 percent of EVE Online players are in the US, according to CCP.

CCP and other online gaming companies located in the American South will be attending the Georgia Game Developers Association-sponsored Southern Interactive Entertainment and Gaming Expo (SIEGE) from October 5-7 at Atlanta’s Crowne Plaza Perimeter NW Hotel.
