Ex-GRIN members have formed a new development studio called Whiteout.
The developer intends to focus on digital markets and currently has a CryEngine 3 project in the works, GamesIndustry.biz reports.
"We've got some very exciting concepts under development," said Whiteout co-founder and former GRIN producer Joel Fagerlund. "We are currently working on a bigger project in CryEngine 3, and thanks to the excellent technology and support from Crytek, we have been able to carefully handcraft a playable prototype that will knock your socks off."
Whiteout staff previously worked on Bionic Commando: Rearmed, Bionic Commando, Wanted: Weapons Of Fate and Terminator: Salvation while at GRIN. Fagerlund established the new studio with Simon Rodriguez and Konstantin Schutte, formerly of virtual worlds developer Metaversum.
"At GRIN, we saw the community's extraordinary response to Bionic Commando: Rearmed," he said. "Couple that with the fact that new releases such as Limbo and Joe Danger have been so well received, we know that the digital marketplace is vibrant and thriving."
