A number of ex-GRIN employees have established Outbreak Studios.
The Sweden-based development studio was founded by lead programmer Peter Björklund, who has been credited on GRIN’s Terminator Salvation, SimBin’s Race Pro, EA’s Battlefield: Bad Company and Avalanche’s Just Cause.
“Outbreak Studios believes in having a small number of core employees that are extremely dedicated, focused and deliver high quality. Most of our associates have worked in the game industry for more than ten years. All of them have worked together for several years,” the company said on its website.
“Our mission is to develop titles for Xbox 360 (XBLA), PS3 (PlayStation Store), Games for Windows Live, PSP Go and iPhone. We also deliver online components for AAA titles, both existing or upcoming.”
The majority of Outbreak’s 25-strong development team has been credited on GRIN’s Terminator Salvation, and a number of them on the developer’s Bionic Commando and Wanted: Weapons Of Fate.
GRIN is yet to officially confirm rumours that it has suffered mass layoffs and office closures, although media and brand manager Gunnar Johansson recently told us that the studio was “closed down during the vacation.”
problem being there games retail games were garbage, only bionic commando re-armed was worthwhile. and for me i expect a case of shovelware, and a few days on the toilet pulling a sicky from work.
