At Atari, Reese will serve as VP of marketing, reporting directly to Atari Inc. CEO Jim Wilson.
When at SCEA, Reese set the product marketing roadmap for first-party Sony titles.
He said in a statement that "Atari is uniquely poised for growth."
The company, a subsidiary of France-based Infogrames, has struggled with financial hardships, layoffs and management departures.
Reese's hiring is part of an effort to rebuild Atari and Infogrames' management teams. Infogrames' CEO is former EA bigwig David Gardner, while former Sony Computer Entertainment World Wide Studios head Phil Harrison came on board as president earlier this year.
