The PS3 version of EA’s Mirror’s Edge will be getting exclusive downloadable content post-release via the PlayStation Network, but the game won’t be released on PS3 ahead of other platforms.
The news follows incorrect reports that the game would be a timed PS3 exclusive, a rumor Sony put to bed with a statement issued to Edge.
“There was a misunderstanding in terms of the quote that Mirror's Edge is to be a timed exclusive on PS3,” the company said.
“The game is multi-platform, although PlayStation has an exclusive marketing agreement with EA regarding the title, and exclusive downloadable content will be offered on the PlayStation Network.”
No further details about the nature of the exclusive downloadable content were given.
