F1 2010 debuted atop the UK all formats chart during the week ended September 25.
Codemasters’ game is the first Formula One title to reach number one since Sony’s Formula One 2001 over nine years ago, and it outsold that game’s launch week total more than tenfold, according to GfK Chart-Track.
The PS3, Xbox 360 and PC racer also outsold its closest two weekly competitors combined. Halo: Reach saw an 80 per cent dip in sales during its second week on the chart, while Dead Rising 2 was a new entry in third place.
Sid Meier’s PC strategy franchise returned to the chart with Civilization V debuting in fourth place, while Activision’s Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock and Square Enix’s PC online-only Final Fantasy XIV were new entries in sixth and tenth respectively.
