Long-awaited XBLA platformer Fez will finally be released on Friday, April 13 for 800 Microsoft Points, developer Polytron has confirmed.
It means Phil Fish's 2D/3D game will launch almost five years after it was first announced, and two years after its original target release date of early 2010. This is the second confirmed Friday release for an Xbox Live Arcade title, following South Park: Tenorman's Revenge, which launches this week.
Earlier this month Fez won the Seamus McNally Grand Prize at the IGF Awards in San Francisco. Fish, along with Braid developer Jonathan Blow and Super Meat Boy creators Team Meat, stars in Indie Game: The Movie, the TV rights to which have been picked up by US network HBO.
