The Writers Guild of America on Saturday announced the winner of its 2009 Videogame Writing Award: LucasArts' Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
Penned by Haden Blackman, Shawn Pitman, John Stafford and Cameron Suey, the game beat out fellow game nominees Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble!, Fallout 3 and Tomb Raider: Underworld.
Last year, D3 Publisher's Dead Head Fred, written by Dave Ellis and Adam Cogan, took home the videogame writing award.
September 2008's The Force Unleashed was a commercial success for LucasArts, which reported opening week worldwide sales of 1.5 million units.
Not played it, but by all accounts it was well written. The only game on there I've actually played is Tomb Raider, and I felt that was pretty good, so I might give Force Unleashed a bash.
Not much competition in the story department really is there? Missed a few games with actual decent stories.
Though, no getting away from Unleashed had an above average tale and it was damn fun to play if technically a bit broken at points.
