Force Unleashed Exec Producer Steps Down

Resignation of 13 year LucasArts veteran follows recent departures of studio president and high profile executives.

Haden Blackman, executive producer and writer of the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed series, has resigned from LucasArts.

Blackman had served at the studio for over 13 years and is credited on games including The Force UnleashedStar Wars: Galaxies and Star Wars: Force Commander. He also helped write and produce a number of Star Wars books and comics.

"I've had a fantastic time working with the team at Lucasfilm and am really grateful for their ongoing support," Blackman said in a statement issued to IGN. "While the decision to leave LucasArts did not happen overnight or come easily, I really feel that now is the best time for me to move on and explore new creative challenges and I look forward to the next phase of my career.”

Blackman’s departure follows the resignation of LucasArts president Darrell Rodriguez and several members of his executive team back in May.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 is set to launch on October 26. LucasArts said Blackman’s resignation will not affect the title’s development.
