Released for all major platforms, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed debuted at No1 on the UK all formats chart after topping the weekly Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and PSP charts.
48 percent of the game’s sales were on Xbox 360 and 30 percent on PS3, making it the tenth fastest selling title ever for each format, while the Wii version accounted for 15 percent of sales.
Renewed stock saw both Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii jump three places, to second and third respectively. The pair were the only all formats top ten titles to record an increase in weekly sales.
EA, which took the top three spots on the UK chart for the previous two weeks, still managed four top ten entries – Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning debuted at No4, Tiger Woods slipped to No5, Mercenaries 2 fell to No6, and Spore dropped to No 10. Crysis Warhead also entered the chart at No21.
Wii Play jumped three places to No7, Carnival: Funfair Games dropped one spot to No8, and TNA Impact! was a non-mover at No9.

Considering this was released on 6 systems (360, PS3, Wii, PSP, DS and PS2) it is surely a huge plus for MS that they managed to get nearly half of the total sales of what has been considered (at least hype wise) to be a big title leading into the Autumn rush of games.
This may have been aided by the 360 price cut as places like Game were selling the 360 bundled with "The Force Unleased" at the new price points, with no added price for the game... effectively the game was free
BOTTOM LINE:
(1) - The 360 sales demonstrates that the levels of Force included with each model is STRONGER than the PS3, this coupled with the recent price cut means that you get more force for your buck. That's why consumers are turing with increasing numbers to the premier console of all creation.
(2) - 6 million sales means that there are 6 million owners out there and with greater attach rates you can guarantee the 360 owner is more ATTACHED to their console than the PS3 owner (mainly because they touched it when it was on and their fingers fused to the outer casing).
(3) - The RICH PRESENCE offered by Live is also a factor in the purchase of this game. We don't know why but we just know that it is, ok? LIVE LIVE LIVE
(4) - This is a mass market title that will appeal to everyone, even DOGS. At the same time it is also a title just for the mainstream and will only appeal to the HARDCORE and as everyone knows the 360 has the BIGGEST most intensest hardcore and the BIGGEST firmest softcore and errrrrr that sounds like I'm talking about porn.....how much is porn on LIVE? You can bet it's cheaper and dirtier than the stuff you can get on Wii or PS3.
(5) - 48% of sales proves that the 360 is the console for this generation and anyone that doesn't agree doesn't know what they are talking about. Better games, bigger attach rates, hotter console, RICHER PRESENCE, better marketing, cheaper price points all add up to one thing- Better value and higher sales...oh that's two things...errrrr......
If Microsoft can keep this up all consoles in history will be out sold and so will all consoles that haven't been built yet.. and consoles in other dimensions. Microsoft are the bestest consoles manufacturers of everything ever, it say's so on this sheet I have here. It also says that Microsoft makes dreams come true and that all dreams you have made true remain the property of Microsoft and cannot be used without permission.
