French Court Backs DS Flash Carts
A French court has ruled that makers of DS flash carts are not violating the law.
Nintendo took French company Divineo to court for manufacturing DS flash carts that enable users to play non-authorised games and media on the portable, but the judge in the case ruled that Nintendo was “illegally” protecting its system by locking users out, reports Maxconsole.
The judge further ruled that developers should be allowed to create applications for the platform at their own free will.
The ruling echoes one made in a Spanish court last month, when a judge said that memory cards allowing users to crack DS units could legally be used to advance the operational capability of the platform, according to GamePolitics.
