The ESA Foundation will receive proceeds earned from a videogaming competition taking place at the Austin Game Developers Conference in September.
The Level Up Games Charity will charge $20 per player, pitting them against one another in Rock Band 2, Madden 08, I-Play Bowling and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
“The ESA Foundation is committed to helping improve the lives of young people,” said Jenny Lai, VP of the ESA Foundation. “The proceeds of this event will allow us to give back even more and enable students from across the country to pursue studies in computer and video game development and design.”
The event will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel Austin on Wednesday September 17 from 6-10 p.m.
The ESA Foundation Scholarship Program aids women and minorities who want to continue their education in videogame development. Scholarships are awarded annually.
Gamers are eligible to win cash, videogames, T-shirts, caps, game accessories and so forth.
ESA Foundation partner GameRecruiter will host the event.
