Gameloft has reported sales of €33.6 million ($44m / £28.1m) for the second quarter of 2010, up 15 per cent year-over-year.
Europe and North America both represented 34 per cent of the French publisher’s sales during the quarter, while the rest of the world accounted for the remainder.
Sales for the first half of the year now stand at €66.6 million ($87.2m / £55.7m), up 11 per cent year-over-year.
“This growth was driven by increased market share in traditional Java and Brew phones as well as by the massive success enjoyed by smartphones around the world,” Gameloft said in a statement. “In particular, Gameloft has positioned itself as a leading game publisher on Apple's iPhone and iPad and has seen its sales on the App Store grow by 113 per cent during the second quarter of 2010."
Gameloft was formed in 1999 by the Guillemot family brothers, who are also the founders and owners of Ubisoft.
