GameStick has announced via a Kickstarter update that its Android console/controller hybrid will be delayed until August.
The delay is a result of the Designed By Me level of Kickstarter rewards, which allows 50 people who paid $300 to give feedback on early access units, taking longer than expected to receive their consoles. In turn, the feedback those players have given have taken longer than expected to implement into the upcoming system.
“This is in part because the DEV version of the hardware this will be delivered on is slightly different from the production hardware,” says the blog post. “This has required a duplication of effort that we have had to balance with ensuring that work on the final units maintained momentum.”
“We now expect to ship product from China during early August and expect it to be with you by the middle of the month, prior to units launching in retail,” GameStick writes.
The update post includes a large number of images showing off the new console.
