Gas Powered Games has cancelled its Kickstarter campaign for its action RPG Wildman with only a few days left on the clock and less than half of its $1.1 million funding goal.
Though no specifics have been shared, an update on the campaign page suggests that the studio may be in trouble.
“We are canceling the Wildman Kickstarter,” it reads. “At this point, it makes sense for us to focus our attention on other ways to keep Gas Powered Games running.
“Unfortunately, we are unable to share any specifics in public. When we have news to share, we will be posting it on our site.”
Disappointed fans are invited to continue discussing the game on the studio’s forum for now forums.gaspowered.com.
We recently spoke to Wildman creator Chris Taylor, also the designer behind Total Annihilation and Dungeon Siege, about his ambitions for the game he hopes will eventually give the ageing action-RPG genre a much needed shot in the arm.
