The third Games Convention Asia event attracted over 100,000 attendees, according to organiser Leipziger Messe.
Held in conjunction with the GC Asia Conference and the inaugural DICE Summit Asia over four days at the Suntec Singapore International Convention Centre last week, attendance figures were up around 10,000 on last year’s total.
The GC Asia Conference featured keynote sessions and panel discussions from 50 international speakers, including the president of Sony Computer Entertainment Asia, who spoke on the subject of copyright protection, and Niko Partners’ managing partner Lisa Cosmas Hanson, who provided some interesting insight into the rapidly growing Chinese gaming market.
More than 200 visitors attended the DICE Summit Asia to hear the likes of NanaOn-Sha head Masaya Matsuura present ideas for how the music game genre can progress, and SCE Japan studio head Yasuhide Kobayashi speak about the challenges of developing global games.
"Four days of expert insights, lively exchanges of ideas, business collaborations and exciting premieres of new games and activities have come to an end. We are very satisfied with how the convention has evolved into a must-attend event for everyone involved in the games industry," said Wolfgang Marzin, CEO of the Leipzig Trade Fair.
