The second Games Convention Asia attracted more than 92,000 visitors, while the GC Asia Conference drew 630 industry professionals, according to event organizer Leipziger Messe.
GC Asia, which was held at the Suntec Singapore Exhibition & Convention Centre from September 18-20, hosted 118 exhibitors from 13 countries and offered attendees the chance to sample the latest games.
“GCA is the premiere event for the games industry in the Asia-Pacific region and this year’s show presented some of the hottest titles for the next 12 months,” said Wolfgang Marzin, president and CEO of the Leipziger Messe. “We’ve been extremely impressed with the turnout and look forward to continued success next year.”
In addition to the consumer event, the GC Asia Conference also brought together more than 630 game industry experts for a program of lectures and panels on key issues for the Asia-Pacific region, covering topics such as outsourcing, mobile games, online and casual games.
”GCAC clearly serves the needs, not just of the Asian market, but also of the global market,” added Marzin. “Industry representatives from the US, Europe and naturally, the Asia-Pacific region participated in the conference, exchanged ideas and created new visions for the future gaming market.”
The success of the event has led its organizer to announce the third GC Asia, to take place in Singapore from September 17-20, 2009.
