Some 22,500 videogame industry professionals attended last week's Game Developers Conference, organisers have confirmed.
The figure represents year-on-year growth of 17 per cent for the event, and sets a new attendance record. Organisers have confirmed that the event will return next year, to the same venue – San Francisco's Moscone Center – from March 25 to 29.
GDC general manager Meggan Scavio said: "GDC reflects the full spectrum of the game development community. The continued growth of the conference is a great indicator of a healthy and exciting industry.
"We are very proud to provide the forum for game makers to connect, dialogue, showcase, and learn in sessions, summits, expos and pavilions every year."
