Blizzard game director Jay Wilson will present ‘Shout at the devil: The making of Diablo III’, and aim to explore the struggles and design lessons learned in achieving the studio’s core design goals.
Elswhere, Dan Pinchbeck of Dear Esther developer thechineseroom will present ‘How to Build a Better Apocalypse’, in which he’ll look into story, setting and the ‘perfect fusion of content and mechanics’ in post-apocalyptic games.
Former Epic lead designer Lee Perry will also be talking at GDC 2013. The BitMonster president’s talk is entitled ‘From Gears to Lili, lessons about mid-core and mobile’, in which Perry will focus on his studios’ experiences during the production, promotion and design of its App Store release Lili. It will also cover the mid-core mobile segment.
