Gears of War 2 has shot straight to the top of the UK All Format chart, becoming the third fastest-selling 360 game in the UK behind GTAIV and Halo 3.

Data from GfK Chart-Track also shows that Media Molecule’s LittleBigPlanet has come in at fourth, being outsold by last week’s top-selling debutant Fallout 3, and the-ever selling FIFA 09. MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Sony's other PlayStation 3 exclusive, had a dismal week where it limped into the charts at number 29.

FIFA 09, not for the first time, has managed to eclipse another title which has debuted ahead of it. The ever-selling football game stays at second spot while Fallout 3 drops two places to third.

THQ's key franchise Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 enters at fifth, while Professor Layton and the Curious Village for the Nintendo DS follows behind at sixth. Layton marks some diversity in the charts for Nintendo; the company’s software sales outlook would be far different if Mario Kart Wii (7) and Wii Fit (10) didn’t forever loiter in the top ten.

Guitar Hero: World Tour broke the top twenty at 17, and Acivision’s Quantum of Solace jumped in at 8. Top ten below.
