GFW Live Has "Too Many Strings Attached", Says Wardell

Third-party approval for game updates an unwanted part of PC platform.

Stardock CEO Brad Wardell has said he believes Games For Windows Live has failed in making itself appealing to developers.

Speaking to us as part of our feature, Should GFW Live Die?, Wardell said the PC gaming platform from Microsoft requires developers and publishers to jump through too many hoops.

"The key mistakes I've seen Games for Windows Live make includes having too many strings attached," Wardell said.

"As a developer I want accounts and achievements, and seamless multiplayer. But I don't want to have to go through some third party to get approval for updates and whatnot."
