Niccolo de Masi has been appointed as president and CEO of California-based publisher Glu Mobile.
Most recently, Niccolo served as president and CEO of mobile technology firm Hands-On Mobile. Prior to that he was the CEO of the London-listed mobile entertainment company Monstermob Group.
Succeeding former president and CEO Greg Ballard, who announced plans to leave Glu last July after six years of service, de Masi said that he hoped to utilise “the company's scale to enhance our market share in both the traditional carrier business and new platforms, such as the iPhone and social networks”.
Founded in 2001, Glu publishes a range of mobile titles including original games and titles based on major brands from partners including Atari, Activision, Konami, Microsoft, Sega and Sony.
