Glu Mobile president and CEO, Greg Ballard, has announced plans to leave the publisher, but is expected to remain in his role until his successor is in place.
“After six years, I have decided the timing is right to look for a new challenge. I’m incredibly proud of how much we accomplished during my tenure, having built what I believe to be a world-class global enterprise," he said.
“The Glu board and I also share the view that this is a good time to bring in new leadership for the company, as we focus on returning to generating positive cash and begin even greater investment in next-generation mobile platforms.”
The company also announced that Dan Skaff and Bill Miller have been elected as co-chairmen of the board of directors.
Founded in 2001, San Mateo, California-based Glu publishes a range of mobile titles including original games and titles based on major brands from partners including Atari, Activision, Konami, Microsoft, Sega and Sony.
Most recently the company expanded its partnership with Activision to publish Crash Mutant Island, Blur, Guitar Hero 5, Tony Hawk: Ride and Modern Warfare 2 later this year.
