Google has acquired Israeli game and web gadget developer LabPixies.

The company is perhaps best known for making iPhone title Flood-It!, but has also created numerous games in the form of iGoogle gadgets, Facebook apps, Hi5 games, MySpace games and Android apps.

It specialises in making web games and adapting them for mobile platforms, notably iPhone and Google’s Android.

While the terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, reports (via TechCrunch) say the acquisition may have cost Google up to $25 million.

Commenting on the deal in a blog post, iGoogle’s Don Loeb said:

“The team will be based in our ever-growing Tel Aviv office and will anchor our iGoogle efforts across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. We are looking forward to working with Labpixies to develop great web apps and leverage their knowledge and expertise to help developers and improve the ecosystem overall.”
