Independent UK games retailer Grainger Games is looking to expand its business nationwide.
The retailer currently operates 22 stores in Scotland and the north of England, but plans to grow its operations to 80 outlets, including its first in the south of England, after taking on former Gamestation regional manager Phil Moore as sales director.
“I can absolutely see a time when we have 80 stores. My long term plan is to grow Grainger Games into a nationally recognised brand that delivers real value to every customer, across every revenue channel,” Moore told MCV.
“When I see how our customers interact with our proposition, and see how much value we deliver, I know that the Grainger Games brand will sit very comfortably in any UK location,” he added.
I think I may have unknowingly visited one in Newcastle, when I was up there last year?
Just hope the expansion doesn't mean Grainger 'do a Game' and send the prices way up. As Badger says, they are currently by far the cheapest option on the Northern high street. They tend to scalp like b******s on the launch of a new console, with various 'forced' bundles, but so does everyone else (was their arguement at the time). As to the decor - I wasn't aware they had any...
Well, in my experience it's always cheaper than game and gamestation. The in-store decor leaves something to be desired though.
