Last week Rockstar North won a Scottish BAFTA ‘Multimedia’ award for its work on Grand Theft Auto IV.

According to BAFTA Scotland, the Rockstar best-seller was up against unfamiliar competition in the guise of the London Transport Museum service as well as the intriguing slabovia.tv; a website which describes itself as “an online representation of the Slabovian State Communications Network and its various media output.”

Last year’s award controversially went to Dynamo Games' mobile phone edition of Championship Manager, beating Realtime Worlds’ Crackdown in the process.

The next British Academy Video Games Awards will be staged at the London Hilton on Park Lane, on March 10, 2009.

Hurrah. Thanks for the news story, Rob.

Nice to see Rockstar finally getting *some* recognition for their obscure little title...
