Hardware sales rose in Japan during the week ended July 5, according to data from Media Create.

Every platform bar PS3 saw a jump, as total console sales hit 132,808 units, up from 114, 713 the week before.

Nintendo’s Wii Sports Resort was once again the week’s bestselling game.

Sales figures released by Enterbrain last week showed that the Japanese market generated ¥218.9 billion ($2.31 billion) in revenues from December 29, 2008 to June 28, 2009 - a fall of 24.4 per cent year-over-year.
