Capsized developer Alientrap has announced a new 2D action-RPG sporting stunning art based on ancient Greek pottery decoration.
Apotheon will be an open-world adventure featuring tactical spear, sword and bow combat, featuring a story based on classical Greek mythology. With Hera having overthrown Zeus, he is threatening to eradicate humanity, so a human champion must infiltrate Mount Olympus and stop her.
The Canada-based two-person team, consisting of Lee Vermeulen and Jesse McGibney, started work on Apotheon directly after finishing the excellent and progressive Capsized, a 2D sci-fi adventure featuring physics-based combat.
Capsized failed to include multiplayer, something for which Apotheon promises to make amends with online battles. It will release first on PC, with further platforms to be announced.
