I Am Alive To Release After March 2011

Survival-adventure title still in development, but it joins a list of recently delayed Ubisoft games that also includes Splinter Cell Conviction and Ruse.

Ubisoft’s survival-adventure title I Am Alive will not ship until after the company's 2010-11 fiscal year ending March 31, 2011.

Originally announced at E3 2008 and scheduled for release on “current generation consoles” in the spring of 2009, the game was in development at independent French developer Darkworks before being moved to Ubisoft Shanghai in March 2009.

The title was switched to the publisher’s internal development studio "in order to respect the new launch date”, which was penciled in for March 2010 at the latest.

However, following Ubisoft’s most recent financial report, in which the company lowered its annual sales and profit forecast, it has emerged that I Am Alive won’t release until April 2011 at the earliest.

"We have been totally re-engineering the product, so it is still on the way," Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said in a conference call (via IGN). "It will use the Splinter Cell engine. We think it can become a very good quality product."

Yesterday Ubisoft also delayed Splinter Cell Conviction and Ruse, both of which were previously scheduled for release before April 2010. They will now be released in April 2010 and before April 2011, resprectively.
