Indie Games Fund Founded

Star developers to support small scale developers in new projects.

Star independent developers have launched a fund designed to help out small scale developers, with new projects to be announced soon.

“Indie Fund is a brand new funding source for independent developers,” reads the group's website. “It was established as a serious alternative to the traditional publisher funding model. Our aim is to support the growth of games as a medium by helping indie developers get financially independent and stay financially independent.”

The fund has been founded by World of Goo developers 2D Boy, Braid creator Jonathan Blow, flOwer's Kellee Santiago, as well as Nathan Vella developer of Critter Crunch, Matthew Wegner of Off-Road Velociraptor Safari and Aaron Isaksen the developer of Armadillo Gold Rush.

More information about the fund will be shared at a GDC panel entitled Indies and Publishers: Fixing a System that Never Worked.
